Description

Salt Lake City, Utah, home to the 2002 Winter Olympics, is a fun city with a wholesome, small town feel. Utah, which boasts the "best snow on earth" is a skier and snowboarder's paradise. Nearby Sundance and Park City, famous for the Sundance Film Festival, offer both skiing, fine dining, luxurious cabins and resorts, with the added perks of upscale shopping and an outdoor outlet mall. Both neighboring cities are nestled in the picturesque Wasatch mountains and offer a quaint European feel and a vast selection of outdoor adventures year round. Salt Lake is home to an award winning symphony, historic Mormon Temple Square, the National Soccer Association's Real Salt Lake and their brand new, state of the art arena, as well as an arts scene with some of the most impressive local talent in theater, dance, and musical performances. Lastly, you'll find beautiful natural wonders nearby at various national parks and mountain trails.

SLC was at first a bit strange. Such a big city and yet not too many people outside. 2pm on a Saturday afternoon in Main Street and you only could see a handful of people.. But then again, having tourists running around you the whole time is also not always the best. So after a day I began to appreciate it. The outside mall has a really nice atmosphere to it, they should have one like this everywhere! After a few days we moved on though to go and do some snowboarding in Park City! An amazing ride! And while you are there you HAVE to visit Jackson Hole! It is like a cowboy fairytale!

Salt Lake City is my home. I live in Southern Salt Lake and this is the place to stay at. Park city is less than an hour away and that is one of the best places to snowboard. Also, the history of the LDS religion is really big there such as Brigham Young's house and Temple Square one of the most beautiful places I've ever been to. I think you will appreciate your stay in Salt Lake City, especially in the winter.

Salt Lake City is one of the most inviting cities i gave ever been to! Surrounded by small local businesses, it stands out from everything around it. Recently, a new indoor and outdoor mall opened in the center of the city. Inside you will find over 90 of the most popular stores. Right across the street is the beautiful Temple Square surrounded by the history of the church and lush flower gardens. Nearby in almost every direction you will find a high-end ski and snowboard resort such as Brighton, Snowbird, and Park City. During the summer, I recommend going to Moab for some mountain biking. other attractions that I have not tried first-hand but have heard great things about are hunting and fishing. One of the most beautiful lakes Ive been to is Strawberry lake. It is known for its fishing. In my opinion, Utah is one of the best places for outdoor recreation in the world. One thing that I was disappointed about is the large number of homeless freely roaming the streets. other than that, i was extremely pleased with my trip here.

I know every Ski/Snowboard resort always claim to have the best snow in the world but I would have to say the resorts close to SLC has it hands down! I live in Colorado and still dream about the snow in SLC. If you want to have an experience of a lifetime with skiing or snowboarding I would suggest any one of the many ski resorts here... you wont be let down!

This city is perfect for any family. It is within hours of so many different outdoor activities (including hiking, skiing, mountain biking, fishing, camping, etc). This is an outdoor lovers paradise.
