Description

Denver, also known as Mile High City, is the perfect mix of city fun and outdoorsy excitement. From old west towns to hiking through the Rockies to whitewater rafting, Denver is a a city of adventure. For those whose idea of fun doesn't involve getting dirty, Denver is packed full of fabulous shopping, dining, and lodging. A leader in arts, entertainment, and museums, Denver has come a long way from the littler western cowboy town that it used to be. Though it's managed to keep its small town charm, it has also blossomed into a luxurious metropolis claiming hundreds of things to do for adults and kids, alike.

The Mile High City

Denver really took me by surprise when I visited it last June. I had a great time because Denver is filled with amazing people so don't be shy approaching them. The music scene here really is one of the best in America although I'm sure other cities such as Nashville, and New Orleans would want to challenge that. If you ever get a chance to see a concert at Red Rocks Amphitheater it is a must for any music lover. I can not wait for another return to Denver and would love to see it during the winter.

Sure there are great hot beaches, sure there are plenty of places to find awesome mountains, but Denver, Colorado is the place to be if you are looking for a fresh get away from the hustle and bustle of our everyday lives. If you are looking for family fun or just a peaceful weekend alone, you will soon be hooked on the delicious fresh food and smiling, friendly faces of the hometown citizens. When you first think of Colorado, I don't know about you, but I think of cowboys and outhouses. There are some adorable small towns with awesome restaurants; but the real star of Denver is the shopping. Make sure you take a stop to the heart of the city where they have top quality stores and amazing prices. Next time you are looking for a family get away over the any season, don't automatically cross Colorado off the list, because I promise it is something you will absolutely not regret!

We tend to stay in Colorado Springs because of work while we are in this area. It is beautiful. Highly recommend a lantern tour of Cave of the Winds, or even a regular tour. Our favorite place was Colorado Wolf and Wildlife Center. We took a tour of it for $20 per person, and loved the wolves and the environment so much we came back to do a VIP tour where you can actually interact with the wolves and get photos taken. We happened to be there while they were filming their commercial, so they included us in it. It was a wonderful experience, the wolves are amazing animals, and their facility is top notch.

Camping is one of my favorite pass times and Denver area is a great place to start! They have camp sites from rugged to cabins. I personally like tent camping and prefer it over any other method. I stay out for about a week at a time. There is fishing, hiking, ATV riding, water tubing, and much, much, more.

Denver is a city for the sports fanatics - come here for NBA, MLB, NFL, etc. The city is full of chain stores and chain restaurants. The US mint and the art museum are interesting, but if you're looking for culture, you will have to explore other parts of Colorado to find it.

If you love crisp air, mountains and miles of deep, fluffy snow, Denver might be your dream come true. I went for the nature and it is by far my favorite aspect of the city. I'm not much for skiing or snowboarding, but I gave it a try anyway and had a nice time. I could see by the activity around me that it is a well-loved activity for this area. I do, however, love hiking and biking and Denver was able to deliver fairly well. It's truly a breathtakingly beautiful place--go visit if you get the chance!

Absolutely breathtaking! First time I've ever been skiing and have to say can't wait to go back.

Colorado is gorgeous! Whether or not you are a winter snow fan, seeing the snow in the mountain tops is breathtaking. Do yourself a favor and put Denver on your bucket list!

So easy to get around, I was driving a tiny little car on the big mountain roads, but I still felt safe. The snow and the mountains were worth every penny.

Three years ago I got the opportunity to join on a little vacation with my brother and sister-in-law to Colorado. I had absolutely no expectations, and was blown away when I got there. It was my first time in the mountain environment, and I joked around that I would move here to become a ski bum. Well Last year I made the move, and haven't looked back since. Denver and up in the Mountains is amazing! There is so much to do all year round, hiking, biking, rafting, golf... and in the winter, snowshoe, skiing, snowboarding.. etc.
I highly recommend this city, you definitely won't be disappointed if you are outdoorsy!
