Description

Take one visit to Nice in Cote d'Azur, or the French Riviera, and you'll quickly forget the life you left behind at home. It's the Mediterranean coastline of southeastern France and it is beautiful. Cote d'Azur was one of the first modern resorts and quickly became a favorite destination for the British elite, and you will feel elite within seconds of stepping foot in this luxurious European paradise. If you don't want to take our word for it, the numbers don't lie: 300 days of sunshine, 71 miles of beaches with golf courses and ski resorts sprinkled throughout. Additionally, if you've heard anything about French food, you know that you are in for an endless choice of fine cuisine. It's impossible to not feel relaxed and taken care of in Cote d'Azur, and this feeling is amplified by the native residents who are some of the friendliest, happiest people in all of France.

    A romantic getaway

I had the opportunity of enjoying this city thanks to the hospitality of friends. We enjoyed walking along the Promenade des Anglais (English walkway), the Pedestrian Zone and I had my first class dining experience at the Château de la Chèvre d'Or in Eze which I have to go back to some day.

Being used to sand beaches, the beaches in Nice did not quiet do it for me. They have pebbles so I recommend wearing sneakers.

    Tips to enjoy Nice

    09/23/13
French riviera, Côte d'Azur, relaxing on the beach, sailing away....sounds apealing no? Then Nice is where you want to go! Add cocktails, bikinis, billionaires, board riders and the body beautiful and you have it!

The landscape between Mediterraneen sea, palace and luxurious hotel façades will take your breath away.

    Did you know...?

    - "la promenade des Anglais" has been so designated because Lewis Way built the 2m large path in 1730 because it was too pebbly for the English travelers who enjoyed walking by teh beach.

    - you can get a nice cocktail with fruits, sweets and crisps for only 5,50 euros ?!

-Nice is only an hour away from some of the Alpe's best ski resorts?! So if you are a bit adventurous, you can ski and surf in the same day!

-you don't have to pay to relax on the beach! You can enjoy beautiful non private beaches a bit further along the coast. Grab a train, alight at a few stops and relax!

    A Paradise

I had a fantastic stay in Nice. We particularly enjoyed the markets full of gorgeous flowers and lots of antiques and trinkets. (A great place to buy a not-your-typical-souvenir.) From here we visited the beach, a space nestled in the middle of the town. The water was ice cold and prickled the skin and the coast was made up of stones-- but it felt very renewing. Our hostel was a bit outside of town, but incredibly convenient by bus, and hosted by kind staff. From here it was also easy to take the train to other coastal towns for day trips. Slow-paced if you want it, lively if you need it, Nice for us was a balance between relaxing and rejuvenating.

Nice like all the Cote D azur is a dream. The mediterranean sea its something always inspiring. I think its a place to dream and to have a good time, but for me is just to dream because you need to be rich to be in there and enjoy the place and all the things. Maybe one day i can go there again...
