The lakes are amazing. The town is a tourist trap.

As amazing as the Ozarks are, the town itself is the opposite. If you go for the nature, that's your spot. If you go for entertainment, expect cheesy at best.

We aim to never go to the same place twice...this is the one place I would go again in a heartbeat

I know people flock to Branson by the thousands but my kids and I didn't see what others seem to love about the place. It's way too commercial for my taste and everybody seems to be in such a hurry to get to their destination. The staff at the hotel we were at weren't very friendly nor were employees at restaurants, attractions, etc. It seemed as if they were there because it was their job and that's all. Didn't seem to be very customer oriented like you'd think they'd be, for the most part. It rained our last day there so we didn't make it to Silver Dollar City. It might have made our thoughts about the place a bit better but I doubt it. Well, at least we can say we've been there!

We found it boring during the day. We did a few of the things, but nothing we found particularly interesting and after you have seen a few of the shows, Branson just seems to be too crowded, too commercial and too expensive.

Despite the *crazy* amount of people and activity that is constantly going on in and around Branson, there are many really awesome private lodgings off the beaten path yet still close to the local festivities. This destination is excellent for families but can also be a rustic, romantic destination for couples of all ages. While most of the local activities wouldn't qualify as acceptable in high society, the nightlife is wild, crazy and fun! If you love country music, you'll fit in excellently! Visit Silver Dollar City, but do watch out for the giant spiders that litter the roads in the early hours of the morning.
