Description

Relaxed, luxurious and warmly nestled in the sunny northern Caribbean, the sand, sun, glistening water is about as close to paradise as you can get. There's a reason that the Travel Channel ranked Anquilla as having the world's best beaches, and not only that--there's 33 to choose from, so you don't have to worry about crowds. If you can tear yourself away from the beaches, championship golf courses, world-class tennis courts, fishing, and cycling are enjoyable options available on the island. But don't worry, ladies, Anguilla is well aware that some people only vacation in order to do absolutely nothing at all. If that's your case, be sure to visit one of the countless spas and wellness retreats available.

    Best Caribbean Island

    09/23/13
Anguilla such a amazing island. If you are looking for beaches, dining and relaxation this is your place. This island offers 2 of the best beaches anywhere in the world. Shoal Bay East and Little Bay are such beautifully stunning beaches. Shoal Bay East is quiet, calm and water is like glass. Do not get this mixed up with Shoal Bay West which is a nice beach but no where close to East. There are many amazing resorts around the island, some of the best hotels in the world can be found here. I found the best value on the island was staying at Ku on the east side of the island and using the sister hotel and also much nice hotel Cap Juluca's ammenties. Ku was very nice, just didn't offer as much a other hotels but it does sit on the nicest beach on the island. Captains Bay is very remote and even trecherous to get to by car but it is a great snorkeling beach and very peaceful, be careful though it can very rough at times! As for the restaurants there are many to choose from, I found Caprice on the west side of the island to be my favorite, one of my favorite restaurants in the world. Hidden gem is the bar in the Cuisinart Resort, make sure to order the Chicken Caeser Sald Pizza so good. There is a rum distillary whcih is a must to try some free samples of rum and tequilla. Make it a point to spend a day at Little Bay this beach is hidden but so amazing, quiet and serene. Looking for a fun excursion head on the El Choclat catamaran, great captain, awesome food and some neat remote island destinations! If you need shopping, mountains or casinos you can take a 15 minute ferry ride across the bay to St Martin, where you can do all the shopping, gambling and hiking your heart desires. Anguilla has some awesome scuba diving locations! Anguilla is a must for any tropical destination.
