Description

There's only one thing we really need to say about Salzburg: the hills are alive with the sound of music! Okay, to be honest, Salzburg has a lot more to offer than what you've seen in the film The Sound of Music, but we do want to make one thing clear. We will not judge you if you feel the need to burst into song as you wander down the baroque roads of this Austrian city. When you're in the birthplace of Mozart, it's to be expected that music will begin to burst out of you. What you may not realize is that the artistic beauty in Salzburg doesn't stop with music. Its churches, town squares, fortresses, and even homes are artistic masterpieces, as well. If you're looking for a bit more spice, have no fear. Salzburg keeps things from getting stuffy with trendy nightclubs, casinos, cafes and bars, and beer so good you'll find yourself craving it long after you've gone home. Salzburg makes it easy for visitors to get around, with many of the sites within walking distance of each other, as well as free busses. Tours keep guests from leaving without seeing any of the essentials.

    WOW!

The greats were here! Impressive just walking around the streets. Casinos are interesting: metal detectors at the entrance and quiet like a library.

Snow capped mountains and pines shaking off powdery flakes lend a fairytale ambiance to this beautiful city.

    AMAZING

Salzburg is my absolute favorite city. Everywhere you turn, there are beautiful buildings, churches, and shops. The Lake District is a short bus ride away, which is breathtaking. If you feel like hiking, the Gaisberg is awesome and has great views of Salzburg, but you can also take the bus. Be sure to stop into some local pastry shops or konditereis - I personally would recommend the apple studel at Shatz-Konditerei. One stroll through the Getreidegasse and you'll be hooked on the character and charm of Salzburg. You'll never want to leave!
