Description

You listen to bands no one else has heard of. You wear the latest fashion before anyone else knows what's cool. You prefer to experience things for yourself rather than being told. So why would you vacation somewhere that everyone else has already gone? A small Megar village exists in Dhakuta in eastern Nepal called Namje. Ever heard of it? Good! Don't tell everyone else, but we're going to let you in on a little secret. Namje has been named by CNN as one of the 12 best unheard of places. And since it's only a matter of time before the "followers" catch on to how beautiful this place is, you better book your trip soon! Although it's easy to get close to the village, the hill top where it's located is inaccessible by road. If you want the experience of visiting Namje, you have to get our your hiking boots and walk yourself there. While it makes for a bit of an obstacle, this trek keeps most visitors out, so Namje has been able to remain rather untouched and?un-touristy. The people in Namje are considered to live very close to nature and are very spiritual. Incredible views of Mt. Makalu (the world's fifth-tallest peak) and river valleys can be seen only from this isolated mountaintop and only by those brave enough to take a chance.

Nepal is magical

09/30/13
I have not been to Namje itself, but judging by the other locations (Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Boudhha, Chitwan National Park, Pokhara) I visited for a month in Nepal, I am sure this could be a truly amazing experience. The culture, people, and sites in Nepal are breathtaking. This was a very pristine and immaculate country before tourism arrived and signs of the abuse are visible now, so please travel consciously and respect the environment and local culture. Support the local family run establishments. YOu wont regret seeing this enchanting land, temples, scenery and sweet people.
