Description

It was the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance, one of the most important cities in the world, and the kind of vacation that will make your friends hate you with envy. Famous for its art and architecture, Florence is dripping with culture and class. While the museums are literally everywhere and are both easily accessible and affordable, all you have to do is walk around town to absorb the beauty of this city. No need to check yourself into rehab for shopping addictions. In Florence, you can feed your addiction with the best shopping on the planet. Luxury boutiques, craftsmen shops, antique stores, and food markets may leave your wallet a bit lighter, but they'll leave your heart happier too. If you can pry yourself away from just filling yourself with meat, cheese, and wine all day, Florence's food features masterpieces equally as stunning as anything you'll see from da Vinci or Titian. Whether you're going with classic Italian, like pizza or gelato, or uniquely Florentine, like bistecca alla fiorentina (a massive T-bone steak) or lampredotto (a tripe dish), you'll find dining is an activity all on its own in Florence.

The Dreams Are Endless In Florence

The captivating capital of Tuscany, Florence erupts in architecture and the arts. To understand and enjoy the workings of the masters of Florence, it is best to read up on renaissance art and architecture before your trip. A few must see stops: The Uffizi Gallery, Florence Cathedral, Ponte Vecchio, the Palazzo Vecchio, Statue David, Piazza della Signoria, Basillica of Santa Maria Novella, and the Bobil gardens just to name a few. These places will be sure to enchant and captivate your eyes. There is much to be seen. Be sure to sample some of the local cuisines; a religious experience in the least. Walk out of the Palazzo Vechio and find yourself captivated by the menu at Osteria Vini e Vecchi Sapori; not a bad deal for any tourist. If you’re looking to get off the beaten path just ask around for family run shops and small back streets. There are plenty of options to choose from in this city, so it is simple to create your own list of jaw dropping sights, delicious confections, and ideas of splendor that will tide you over until the next time you visit this great historic city. The dreams are endless in Florence.

Truly Italy

Florence is one of the nicest cities in the Toscana. The Duomo and Ponte Vecchio belong to the cities most famous tourist attractions, see them in the morning and evening late-the atmosphere will be completely different! Calculate at least 3 days to get a nice overview of the city- eventough everything is walkable, the cirty has a lot to offer and visit. I would highly recommend as well to take a wine tour in the surrounding Toscana countryside, you wont be disappointed!

Romance, Food, Wine, History....Viva Italia!!!

Florence is known for many things, but what I can say is that you will not experience a more welcoming city that still maintains a level of Italian culture that tourists can truly experience without feeling really cheesy or forced.

I would say one of the best times to go to Florence is in the summer (despite it being heavy tourist season). They have so many festivals going on including...THE GELATO FESTIVAl...that's right, an entire festival dedicated to gelato (including gelato cocktails).
One of the best sandwich shops in the city is called Pino's Sandwich shop and you can make enormous sandwiches for very cheap and the family who runs it are the nicest people. Also...you have to try the Bistecca Florentina, Florence Steak...it rivals any steak made out of the American heartland!

Go to the Uffizzi and see Da Vinci's designs, go to the Accademia and see the statue of David, go the the Piazza di Michelangelo and have a romantic wine and cheese antipasto while the sunsets over the red rooftops of Florence. Go to the San Lorenzo leather market and see true Italian craftsmanship.

I fully endorse this city!
